Job summary

Deliveroo in London is looking for a Golang Backend Engineer to build real-time fraud detection and enforcement for financial products across all brands. You will design and ship high-throughput, low-latency services in Go, and collaborate with risk analysts, data scientists and product managers to prevent fraud and losses.

The role is based in London, UK, with opportunities to work across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo teams.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including backend services you have shipped and owned in production.
• 1+ years of production experience in Golang, or strong experience in another backend language and eagerness to switch to Go.
• Working understanding of low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Go that score financial events in real time.
• Design fraud detection and automated enforcement for financial products end to end.
• Extend our fraud decisioning platform to work across multiple brands.
• Partner with risk analysts, data scientists, and product managers to translate fraud patterns into deployed rules.
• Collaborate with account security, payments fraud, and financial product teams to reuse signals and interfaces.
• Contribute to architectural discussions establishing fraud infrastructure for financial products.
