Job summary

Lightning AI, the company behind PyTorch Lightning, is hiring a Backend Engineer to scale the Lightning AI platform. You will own features end-to-end across APIs, infrastructure, billing, and security, collaborating with engineering, product, and design. This role is based in one of our hubs (Seattle, NYC, SF, or London) with at least two in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience writing Go code with emphasis on efficiency and maintainability.
• Experience building and scaling APIs and SaaS services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Ability to own features end-to-end and drive delivery.
• Strong collaboration with engineers, product managers, designers.
• Experience in high uncertainty environments.

Responsibilities

• Write readable, testable Go code.
• Develop features, improve stability, enhance performance.
• Set technical direction for large projects with product leaders.
• Evaluate and document architecture, tools, and processes.
• Maintain quality, automate, enable continuous delivery, reduce debt.
• Mentor engineers and foster inclusive environment.
