Job summary

Cambridge Aerospace seeks a GNC Engineer to support the development of a new interceptor from concept through flight test, joining the core design team and owning a subset of guidance, navigation and control functions.

You will work across mission requirements, algorithm design and implementation to build reliable flight in dynamic environments, collaborating with GNC, flight physics, radar, hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in aerospace, electrical, or control engineering.
• Strong knowledge of classical and modern control theory and flight mechanics.
• Experience designing guidance, navigation or control algorithms, with flight-control law experience particularly relevant.
• MATLAB/Simulink skills; Python/C/C++ or similar is a plus.
• Exposure to integration, test, design assurance or safety assessment is a plus.

Overview

We are looking for a GNC Engineer to support the development of a new interceptor from concept through flight test. You will join the core design team taking ownership of a subset of guidance, navigation and control functions. From mission‑level requirements through algorithm design and implementation, you will build the logic that enables precise, reliable flight in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct performance and robustness analyses across the full flight envelope

Requirements

• GNC experience in aerospace applications
• BS or MS in aerospace, electrical or control engineering, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of classical and modern control theory and flight mechanics
• Experience designing guidance, navigation or control algorithms, with flight-control law experience particularly relevant
• Exposure to integration, test, design assurance or safety assessment is a plus
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink skills. Programming knowledge in Python, C/C++ or similar is a plus

Preferred

• Experience in fast paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times
