Allerton Bishop Search is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer to appoint a Head of QC in the North of the UK. This senior leadership role directs a large QC function, ensuring robust analytical testing, compliance with GMP, and alignment with manufacturing and lifecycle objectives.

You will shape strategy, drive continuous improvement, and lead a multidisciplinary quality control team across Chemistry, Bioanalytical and Microbiology while collaborating with QA and Manufacturing

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences as stated.
• GMP Quality Control leadership experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead large QC teams and drive improvements.

Responsabilités

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of approximately 100 QC professionals across.
• Provide strategic direction across the QC organisation, ensuring analytical operations support manufacturing, testing, release and business objectives.
• Ensure all QC activities are performed in accordance with GMP, regulatory, safety and quality requirements.
• Drive operational excellence across laboratory functions, improving efficiency, right-first-time performance, capacity and turnaround times.
• Partner with QA, Manufacturing and Technical Ops to resolve quality and analytical issues.
• Oversee laboratory performance, resource planning, capability development and succession planning across Chemistry, Bioanalytical and Microbiology.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across QC processes, systems and ways of working.
• Act as senior technical/quality representative for QC during regulatory inspections, audits and investigations.
• Ensure analytical capability and regulatory readiness to support current and future manufacturing requirements.
