Job summary

Mercer is seeking a talented Actuarial Consultant based in the London office, focusing on GMP rectification and equalisation. The role invites part-qualified or qualified actuaries to join a centre of excellence delivering UK retirement solutions and diverse pension projects.

You will lead complex modelling, review calculations, and drive knowledge-sharing while developing junior colleagues and engaging directly with clients on actuarial engagements across pension initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified actuary
• Extensive experience in actuarial technical calculations
• Strong understanding of UK Defined Benefit pension schemes and benefit calculations
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and Lead: work with multi-disciplinary team on complex defined benefit modelling
• Quality Assurance: check and review complex calculations
• Drive Improvement: develop knowledge-sharing and training initiatives
• Build Relationships: partner with internal teams to deliver seamless service
• Support and Develop: mentor junior colleagues and conduct training
• Client Engagement: interact with clients on actuarial projects
• Project Involvement: participate in pension valuations, risk assessments and benefit design
