Job summary

Smithers Environmental Risk Sciences (ERS) Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to bolster the QA Team and ensure GLP-compliant research activities. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, onsite, with responsibility for audits of protocols, data, and reports, and support for inspections.

The successful candidate will hold a BSc/BA in a science field, have strong QA experience in GLP/regulatory settings, and excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Arts in a science field preferred.
• Strong Quality Assurance experience in GLP or regulatory environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MHRA/OECD GLP Regulations.
• Good writing, numeracy and computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
• Excellent organisational skills and initiative for improvement.
• Experience with CSV auditing and training others is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Audit protocols, data, reports and processes to verify GLP compliance.
• Accurately report audit findings to laboratory personnel and management.
• Participate in facility, process and computer system audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain QA audit schedules, training records and controlled documents.
• Communicate effectively with staff to support quality activities.
• Assist in preparing for sponsor and regulatory inspections.
• Provide training to operations staff on SOPs and regulatory compliance.
• Additional duties as assigned.
