Overview

Global Trade Compliance Manager

Location: Remote, UKContract: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you a self-starting trade compliance expert ready to own and influence a global function?We are seeking a highly skilled Global Trade Compliance Manager to join our international team. This is a sole-contributor role with a broad remit covering EMEA, Australia, and Asia where you’ll take ownership of our trade compliance operations, collaborate across global teams, and ensure adherence to UK, EU, U.S., and applicable trade regulations.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As Global Trade Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Lead and administer our global trade compliance program, ensuring best-in-class processes and adherence to all relevant regulations
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on UK and EU export control laws, with working knowledge of U.S. and other global regulations
  • Advise and influence stakeholders, operationalizing compliance strategies across technical, commercial, legal, and logistics functions
  • Manage day-to-day trade operations including denied party screening, license applications, item classifications, and compliance documentation
  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training to internal teams, embedding best practices across sites and functions
  • Conduct compliance assessments and support audits, closing out any corrective actions and driving process improvements
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects, leveraging project management and Six Sigma skills to improve efficiency and reduce risk
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years’ experience in import/export controls
  • Strong proficiency in UK and EU trade regulations, with experience navigating U.S. and global trade rules
  • Proven experience in managing trade compliance operations in multi-site or multi-national organizations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills – able to influence and guide teams across functions
  • Highly self-motivated, analytical, and adaptable, with the ability to solve complex problems independently
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to company sites

Desirable:

  • Project Management or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Visio
  • Prior exposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional trade compliance environments
