Job summary

Celeros Flow Technology in Glasgow is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support its global export/import compliance program.

You will work with the Global Trade Compliance Manager to classify shipments, update policies, and train staff while conducting audits to ensure adherence to EAR, ITAR, OFAC, HMRC. This role offers opportunity to influence policy and strengthen compliance culture across functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ trade compliance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of UK, EU, and US import/export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, HMRC, Export Control Joint Unit, and Department of International Trade.
• Must demonstrate excellent knowledge on Classification (ECCN and HTS)
• Must demonstrate an extensive understanding and application of export classification and licensing principles, practices, and concepts

Responsibilities

• Provide all round global export/import compliance advice to the business.
• Develop, review, and update company export and import compliance policies, manuals and operating procedures.
• Conduct periodic training of company personnel with regard to export and import laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Assist the Global Trade Compliance Manager to develop and implement auditing methodology and conduct periodic audits to test company compliance with export and import regulations and Company procedures.
• Identify and classify Export (ECCN) and Import (HTS) and HS classifications for the company’s products.
• Ensure compliance with UK, U.S. and other applicable Export Control regulations, as well as conformance with internal corporate policies and procedures.
• Export controls and license determination for all exports and re-exports of tangible and intangible goods.
• UK Export Licensing: Submission and management of export license applications to the UK Department for International Trade Export Control Joint Unit via SPIRE.
• Monitor and maintain trade compliance data elements in the company’s systems.
• Support periodic internal assessments on the trade compliance program. Identify risk areas and recommend improvements.
