Job summary

SmartestEnergy is transforming its Finance function into a leading practice organisation with scalable processes and high standards of control. We seek a technical accounting leader to shape our future as the Group's IFRS expert and partner to senior leaders, commercial teams, and external auditors.

You will drive authoritative guidance on complex transactions, acquisitions, and evolving accounting standards, building a global technical accounting function to support our growth plans.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA (or equivalent) with Big 4 background and significant post-qualified leadership experience.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS, especially IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IFRS 3, with a track record applying complex standards.
• Experience in the energy/utilities/commodity trading sector with understanding of financial instruments and sector-specific accounting challenges.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to influence senior leaders and liaise with external auditors.
