Job summary

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Group Technical Accountant to join Group Finance. The role delivers high quality technical accounting guidance across IFRS, UK GAAP and statutory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.

You will work with senior management on acquisitions, restructurings and complex transactions, prepare accounting papers and support external audits while driving continuous improvements in financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or equivalent with post-qualification experience in Technical Accounting or Audit.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 101/102).
• Experience with consolidated financial statements and complex group reporting.
• Experience with M&A and acquisition accounting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting expertise across IFRS, UK GAAP and emerging standards.
• Prepare technical papers and guidance to support finance teams and key business decisions.
• Assess the accounting impact of acquisitions, restructurings, impairments, leases, revenue recognition and financial instruments.
• Support M&A activity through acquisition accounting, purchase price allocations and post-acquisition reporting.
• Review commercial contracts and financing arrangements to identify accounting implications and ensure compliance.
• Support the preparation of Group consolidated financial statements, including disclosures and notes.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for Group entities in line with IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102 and Companies Act requirements.
• Partner with finance teams, auditors and stakeholders to resolve technical accounting issues.
• Maintain high-quality technical documentation, audit trails and evidence to support accounting judgments.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, controls and reporting standards.
