We are excited to be partnering with a very impressive well-established manufacturing company.
Due to the growth of the business, they have had a brand new opportunity that has come up for their team in Germany. The position is a Global Supply Chain Manager on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing international supply chains, aligning requirements and objectives with departments such as sales, R&D, and logistics, and formulating long-term strategies (5-10 years) for the business.
You will make key decisions regarding make-or-buy strategies, optimize task distribution across locations and suppliers, and, when necessary, plan the relocation of production.
You will be responsible for the ongoing development of global processes and systems, including supplier management, lifecycle management, and handling complaints or product discontinuations.
As a strategic buyer, you will manage product groups, coordinate supplier activities within development projects, and conduct market analysis and negotiations to ensure consistent supply.
Additionally, you will address challenges such as supplier bankruptcies or product discontinuations, work to enhance supplier performance, and uncover cost-saving opportunities in procurement.
Continuous improvement of processes and systems between locations and suppliers to facilitate more efficient collaboration will be a key part of your responsibilities.
You possess expert knowledge, typically acquired through a degree (preferably in industrial engineering or a related field).
You have 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within purchasing, project management, or management consulting, with a focus on supply chain management.
You demonstrate assertiveness in negotiating prices and ensuring deadlines and tasks are met.
You work in a reliable, customer-centric manner and are open and transparent when addressing issues, always focusing on finding collaborative solutions.
You have experience managing projects, leading meetings and workshops, and preparing presentations and decision-making materials for senior management.
You are proficient in MS Office, comfortable with digital tools, and possess basic technical knowledge, such as interpreting technical drawings.
You are fluent in English, have strong intercultural communication skills, and are willing to travel abroad, including extended stays, with the possibility of intercontinental travel.
