Job summary

Collins Aerospace are seeking a quality engineer to support supplier assessment and issue resolution across the UK, including site-based and hybrid work in Winnersh. You will analyse data, perform root cause investigations and drive corrective actions with suppliers.

You will learn through professional development, with access to certifications, mentorship and leadership opportunities in a globally leading aerospace company. Travel to supplier sites in the UK is required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience in a supply chain operations environment or equivalent.
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Quality Regulations, and Quality Tools.
  • Experience using PFMEAs, Control Plans and Process Flows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier assessment, monitoring, escape management and quality issue resolution processes.
  • Analyse and make recommendations on quality data and the development of part / supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
  • Provide research on and explanations of root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures.
  • Develop corrective and/or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for products provided by suppliers.
  • Conduct processes and procedures for supplier qualification / certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards / DQ Clinics with suppliers.
  • Review processes and metrics and make recommendations to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
  • Periodic travel to the suppliers’ locations in the UK

What You Will Do

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience in a supply chain operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
  • Experience using MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Quality Regulations, and Quality Tools.
  • Experience using PFMEAs, Control Plans and Process Flows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and easily with both internal and external executives and employees.
  • Ability to adapt and use multiples forms of interaction styles to convince and / or persuade people / stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals.
  • Experience with Problem solving and Escape management techniques.
  • Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) Knowledge.
  • Aerospace Industry experience is desirable.
  • Experience conducting manufacturing process reviews.
