Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to support onboarding, qualification and ongoing development of European suppliers from Aldershot in a two-year fixed-term arrangement. The role offers hybrid working typically two days onsite with the remainder remote and regular travel across Europe.

You will contribute to supplier audits, CPPAP reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives, with potential for permanent progression depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier quality, development or QA.
• Experience with supplier audits, performance management and continuous improvement.
• Ability to challenge suppliers and drive measurable quality improvements.
• Strong knowledge of 8D, root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of PPAP and process capability assessments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier onboarding through documentation reviews and initial risk assessments.
• Contribute to supplier qualification activities, including remote and onsite audits, PPAP reviews and capability assessments.
• Monitor supplier performance against targets and audit findings.
• Escalate supplier risks and contribute to supplier development plans.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support customer complaint handling and the resolution of quality issues.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving using 8D, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Track quality issues through to closure and maintain supplier relationships.

Our client, a global organisation operating across the automotive and aerospace sectors, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the onboarding, qualification and ongoing development of European suppliers. This is a two-year fixed-term opportunity based in Aldershot with an option to go permanent, with hybrid working typically involving two days onsite and the remainder remotely. The role includes regular travel to suppliers across Europe, usually one to two trips per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting supplier onboarding through documentation reviews, process mapping and initial risk assessments
• Contributing to supplier qualification activities, including remote and onsite audits, PPAP reviews and capability assessments
• Monitoring supplier performance against PPM, delivery targets and audit findings
• Escalating supplier risks and contributing to supplier development plans
• Driving corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Supporting customer complaint handling and the resolution of quality issues
• Facilitating structured problem-solving activity using 8D, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Tracking quality issues through to closure and maintaining effective supplier relationships

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in supplier quality, supplier development or supplier quality assurance
• Practical experience of supplier audits, performance management and continuous improvement
• Confidence to challenge suppliers, uphold quality standards and drive measurable improvements
• Strong understanding of 8D, root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques
• Experience of ISO standards and quality management systems
• Knowledge of PPAP, process capability assessments and supplier qualification procedures
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management skills
• Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to European suppliers
