Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead international accounting policy and statutory reporting across 27 entities from our London hub. You will align local GAAP with group policy, drive regulatory compliance, and build scalable, automated processes for reporting.

You will draft position papers on complex judgments and support audits, while collaborating with global teams including US Tax and Legal. Strong IFRS/US GAAP expertise and a builder’s mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong post‑qualification experience in technical accounting and/or statutory reporting.
• Strong US GAAP and IFRS/FRS 102 technical knowledge is essential.
• Hands-on experience drafting or reviewing technical accounting papers on judgemental areas, and preparing, reviewing, or auditing statutory financial statements.
• Big 4 and/or large multinational group experience with exposure to complex international statutory audit and technical accounting matters.
• Experience working across a global organisation, collaborating with international teams across different time zones.
• Builder's mindset: capable of creating structure, navigating ambiguity, and improving processes in a fast-moving environment.
• Desire for accuracy and analytics, with ability to identify risks and drive solutions independently.
• Automation and scalability mindset using modern tooling and advanced spreadsheet skills and systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the framework for applying group accounting policy across international entities.
• Own the international statutory compliance framework with calendars, deadlines, and risk surfacing.
• Design templated, controls-driven, automated workflows to scale compliance and reporting across 27 entities.
• Ensure regulatory adherence and align local positions with group policy and evolving regulations.
• Draft technical accounting position papers to support statutory filings and audits on complex judgments.
• Provide technical review and sign-off on judgments and disclosures across the international portfolio.
• Play a key role in the NetSuite-to-SAP transition and scalable accounting processes.
