Qualifications

• Experience in publishing; preferably scholarly journals.
• Evidence of setting goals and delivering impact on a journal or programme.
• Excellent networking and communication skills in English.
• Ability to adapt to change and work across cultures and locations.
• Data-driven approach to publishing evolution and market trends.
• Financial and commercial awareness in journal growth.
• Good judgment using AI tools with need for review when necessary.
• Willingness to travel 2–4 trips per year.

Responsibilities

• Track market developments in publishing and identify needs for journals and communities.
• Create portfolio strategies using market data to boost STMJ objectives.
• Grow journal content via acquisitions and new content formats.
• Negotiate and manage editor contractual relationships.
• Oversee the editorial fees budget.
• Build relationships with editors, boards, institutes, societies, funders, and researchers.
• Contribute to STMJ projects, including new products, services, and process improvements.
