Job summary

Sompo Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Global Short-Tail Pricing Actuary in London, hybrid setup, to lead the design of a globally consistent pricing model for property pricing. You will collaborate with underwriting and pricing leadership across regions to deliver disciplined pricing frameworks and data-enabled insights.

The role emphasizes methodology, standards, and tools to support renewals, capital allocation, and reinsurance decisions while advancing predictive analytics and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years GI pricing experience.
• Exposure to capital modelling would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of R, Python and SQL.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of pricing and portfolio management techniques.
• Highly organized and self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Work with short-tailed underwriting units to support build of a future global pricing model.
• Establish consistent and comparable technical pricing across Sompo’s short-tailed global business.
• Provide leadership in evolving global property analytics ecosystem and develop standards and tools.
• Design model specifications rather than building in HX.
• Collaborate with underwriting and pricing leadership to curate a high-quality portfolio.
• Develop and maintain performance monitoring reports and MI.
