We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You'll Do

BCG’s Case Risk Rating (CRR) framework is a strategically significant risk management tool that assesses the risk profile of client engagements. As the Owner of the CRR Framework, this role sits at the heart of how BCG operationalises its risk appetite across its global client portfolio.

Role Impact

The CRR is built and maintained by a dedicated technical product team; this role sits within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team and works in partnership with the CRR product team — translating risk requirements into clear functional specifications, ensuring the methodology remains aligned with BCG's risk appetite, and holding accountability for framework governance. The work has direct visibility to BCG's most senior risk and governance forums.

Role Overview

This role has three core areas of responsibility:

  • CRR Framework Ownership — serving as the end-to-end owner of the Case Risk Rating (CRR) methodology, data requirements, scoring logic and documentation
  • Portfolio Risk Reporting & Performance Analysis — tracking how the CRR framework performs across the case portfolio, identifying trends, and translating data into governance-ready insight for senior stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Adoption — working with the CRR product team and business stakeholders to support framework adoption, monitor data quality from a risk methodology perspective, and escalate issues as needed
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
CRR Framework Ownership
  • Serve as the owner of the CRR framework — maintaining the end-to-end methodology including scoring logic, risk attributes, thresholds, and framework documentation
  • Define the business and data requirements and risk attributes underpinning the CRR methodology, partnering with the CRR product team to ensure they are appropriately captured and reflected in framework outputs
  • Monitor CRR data quality from a risk methodology perspective, identifying where inputs appear incomplete, inconsistent, or misaligned with framework expectations, and escalating as appropriate
  • Lead periodic reviews and evolutions of the CRR methodology, working with the Risk Intelligence Director and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the framework reflects BCG's current risk appetite and case landscape
  • Maintain a clear and current record of all framework decisions, rationale, and version history to support auditability and governance
Portfolio Risk Reporting & Performance Analysis
  • Monitor CRR outputs and portfolio-level performance on an ongoing basis, including tracking risk distribution, score trends, and framework calibration to assess whether thresholds and weightings are behaving as intended
  • Flag emerging trends or anomalies that may warrant framework evolution, escalation, or changes to risk appetite thresholds
  • Identify meaningful patterns in portfolio-level risk data, including trends and concentrations across geographies, industries, and case types, and translate findings into actionable insights for the CRR product team, Risk Intelligence Director, ERM, Risk, and Practice Area leadership.
  • Prepare regular risk reporting for senior governance forums, ensuring outputs are clear, accurate, and framed to support informed decision-making
Stakeholder Engagement & Adoption
  • Partner with the CRR product team to translate case risk methodology requirements into data, reporting, and product specifications
  • Partner with data owners to define, maintain, and evolve the data requirements supporting the CRR framework
  • Maintain a close and transparent working relationship with the CRR product team, proactively sharing risk methodology observations, flagging data quality queries early, and ensuring alignment between functional requirements and product development priorities
  • Work closely with the CRR product team to stay informed on data pipeline health, input completeness, and any system-side issues that may affect the quality or reliability of risk scores
  • Support adoption and understanding of the CRR framework among end users (including case teams and 1.5 LoD reviewers) through guidance, FAQs, and responsive issue resolution
  • Represent ERM in cross-functional discussions about CRR scope, coverage, or framework changes, ensuring risk methodology considerations are clearly represented
What You Are Good At
  • Owning complex operational frameworks end-to-end, with strong attention to methodology, data quality, and documentation
  • Translating analytical and risk concepts into clear, structured outputs
  • Building trusted relationships with technical, data and functional stakeholders across a global, matrixed organisation
  • Identifying patterns and inconsistencies in data, and driving structured resolution
  • Operating with rigour and precision in a fast-moving environment, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Communicating clearly and confidently — both in writing and in stakeholder settings
What You'll Bring
  • 5–8+ years of experience in risk management, risk operations, compliance, analytics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience owning or managing a risk or compliance framework, methodology, or process
  • Strong analytical and data skills; experience working with risk data, dashboards, or structured reporting
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality briefings and documentation
  • Experience managing relationships with technical, data and functional stakeholders in a complex organisation
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management concepts and frameworks (ERM, risk registers, risk rating tools) is highly desirable
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Risk, Business, Finance, Public Policy, Analytics, or a related discipline; professional certifications (CRMA, CIA, CPA, FRM) are a plus
  • Experience in a global professional services or partner-led environment is beneficial
