Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Quality Governance Lead in Manchester. The role is responsible for sustainably improving the effectiveness of the Syngenta Crop Protection Quality Management System, measuring quality performance globally through KPIs, and driving improvement in the deployment of the QMS elements.

You’ll ensure all quality governance activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, and build a network and strong professional capabilities across the function.

Responsibilities/accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Leading the Global Quality governance team to ensure and optimize the effectiveness of the Quality Management System through annual continuous improvement priorities.
  • Collaborating with regional quality teams to develop Global/regional Quality KPIs aligned with strategic goals, and analyzing data from the professional quality dashboard.
  • Developing and executing the Global QMS audit plan by building a global auditor network and enhancing auditing capabilities.
  • Sustaining and maximizing the operational value of the Quality IT system (e.g., Reliance, SAP).
  • Building a high-performing, expert Quality governance team through talent development and succession planning.
  • Establishing and maintaining the Syngenta CP Global quality subject expert network to support business strategies.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to support business development.
  • Developing a Global Quality culture promotion plan, engaging regional quality teams.
What we are looking for

We value engaged, collaborative professionals with a strong desire to develop. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid experience with quality management systems in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Excellent command of English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • BSc/MSc in Life Sciences or Engineering, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Project management skills, especially in IT implementations and change management.
  • Operational quality experience.
  • Experience with quality management software solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within matrix organizations.
  • Certified Quality Auditor qualification.
  • Expertise in quality management systems and scientific/quality software design.
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and results-oriented skills.
Additional Information

The role is based at our Global Operations Centre in Manchester. It is a hybrid contract requiring at least 2 days in the office per week, with remote work options. Initially, up to 3 days onsite may be required. The site supports global operations with a dynamic, inclusive culture.
