Job summary

Saferworld in London seeks a Programme Development Manager to lead co-design and proposals for peace and security programmes. You will coordinate with country teams and partners to develop high-quality funding applications and donor relationships, ensuring gender-sensitive, contextually informed design.

The role requires managing budgets, coordinating cross-team inputs, and engaging with a range of statutory and institutional donors as part of a 12-month fixed term contract.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of co-designing international development programmes with partners.
• Proven ability to write successful funding proposals including budgets and theories of change.
• Experience in donor engagement and building donor relationships.
• Strong gender mainstreaming in programme design.

Responsibilities

• Lead participatory, partner-centred programme co-design and development of proposals that link to our theory of change.
• Coordinate across teams to draft high-quality funding applications (narratives, budgets, theories of change, MEL and risk matrices).
• Support diversification of funding sources from trusts and foundations.
• Represent Saferworld to donors and at relevant conferences and events.
• Ensure gender and conflict analysis is integrated into programme design and proposals.
