WHAT'S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

To deliver a compelling, consumer-led global footwear and equipment strategy for Berghaus-combining performance, innovation, and commercial strength across regions. You'll be the catalyst for growth, shaping the future of our footwear and equipment business by putting the product and consumer at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a passionate and product-obsessed Global Product Merchandiser with deep footwear and equipment experience to lead the evolution of our global assortment. This isn't just a merchandising role-it's a chance to influence the direction of key categories in a global brand with bold ambitions. This role demands a growth mindset, strong commercial acumen, and an innate connection to the consumer. You'll operate across regional markets-balancing local nuances with a unified global vision-and drive initiatives that truly differentiate Berghaus in the outdoor and performance space.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As our Global Product Merchandiser, you will be responsible for:

  • Shape the global footwear and equipment strategy & line architecture lead the creation of our multi-season global footwear & equipment line plans. Define product architecture across genders, channels, and regions. Balance carryover, core, and newness to build an offering that's commercially sound and aligned to future growth opportunities.
  • Be the Voice of the Consumer Champion consumer insight across global markets, translating qualitative and quantitative data into actionable product and merchandising direction. Understand regional differences-from terrain and climate to buying behaviours and retail dynamics.
  • Execute with Precision Manage the end-to-end merchandising process-from line plan creation to go-to-market readiness. Align with Product Design, Development, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure product launches are coordinated, timely, and successful.
  • Drive Commercial Performance Track product performance across regions using KPIs like adoption rates, revenue, and margin. Use these insights to refine future assortments, pricing strategy, and SKU productivity.
  • Lead Strategic Footwear Projects Take ownership of high-impact initiatives-brand collaborations, sustainability and purpose-led capsules, and limited-edition drops. Bring creativity, agility, and a commercial lens to every project.
WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?

To stand out in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in product merchandising or category management, ideally in footwear and equipment within the outdoor, sportswear, or performance space.
  • Deep understanding of footwear consumers, global market trends, and the product development lifecycle.
  • A global mindset with the ability to balance central strategy with regional nuance-supporting diverse markets and consumer needs.
  • Passion for product, innovation, and the power of insight-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical capability-confident working with data, building reports, and tracking KPI performance.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment in a global matrixed organisation.
  • Experience leading special projects like collaborations, capsules, or purpose-led collections is a plus.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and merchandising or PLM systems.
