Job summary

ITM Power in Sheffield is seeking a Product Conformity Engineer to lead stack and product compliance, manage certifications, and maintain technical documentation to ensure market entry.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing, coordinate testing, and act as the voice of the customer to meet regulatory and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Quality, or related technical field.
• Experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs or quality within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong ability to motivate, coach and support individuals to achieve high performance.
• Demonstrated capability to set clear expectations, manage performance and hold others accountable.

Responsibilities

• Resource allocation and prioritisation for stack and product certification activity.
• Inspection of electrolyser products built by ITM, ensuring they conform to design documentation.
• Ensuring packaged items received by ITM are built in line with manufacturer’s documentation.
• Review of product design documentation to enable certification of ITM product designs.
• Development, maintenance and control of Technical Construction Files (TCFs) and other compliance documentation.
• Prepare and issue Declarations of Conformity.
• Ensure BOMs, material declarations and product specifications meet regulatory standards.
• Provide cover for the Product Conformity Specialists and Product Conformity Technicians in management of documentation for products received from suppliers.
• Coordinate internal and external testing for stack and product safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide cover for Certification bodies during inspection and witnessing of testing.
• Support the Commissioning Team during field testing and ensure reports are accurate and complete.
• Ensure all stack and product labelling meets regional compliance requirements.
• Assist Product Conformity Specialists with certification trackers.
• Prepare for internal and external audits related to product compliance.
• Deliver compliance training and awareness to internal stakeholders.
• Identify and elevate manufacturing issues and drive corrective actions.
• Lead final inspection before dispatch to meet customer expectations.
• Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team to high performance.
• Foster a collaborative culture with cross-functional teams.
