Job summary

White-Recruitment is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to own an international procurement strategy for a £50m engineering supply chain in the UK. You will drive supplier development and global partnerships, delivering value and performance across borders.

You will build and manage supplier networks in China, lead negotiations to reduce costs while maintaining quality, and ensure on-time delivery for UK and overseas manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Senior procurement experience in mechanical engineering or manufacturing.
• Extensive sourcing and supplier management across China.
• Knowledge of machining, manufacturing processes and costs.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic supplier relationships across China.
• Identify and qualify high-performing machine shops and raw material suppliers.
• Lead cost-reduction negotiations while maintaining quality.
• Manage machined component procurement with engineering knowledge.
• Ensure on-time delivery to UK and overseas sites.
• Drive cost, quality, and supplier performance improvements.
