Job summary

Volta is looking for a Senior People Operations Specialist to join our People Operations team, delivering an end-to-end employee lifecycle across multiple jurisdictions for a rapidly growing international workforce.

You will automate processes, document scalable ways of working, strengthen controls and ensure compliance with UK GDPR and cross-border requirements while acting as the main contact for employees and managers on People Operations matters.

Qualifications

• Extensive people operations or HR operations experience in scaling companies.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions with lifecycle documentation across several countries.
• Strong processes, documentation standards, service levels, data hygiene and controls.
• Working knowledge of UK employment law and right-to-work requirements.
• Understanding of data protection in HR under UK GDPR.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong spreadsheet skills.
• Absolute discretion with confidential information.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and volume, prioritizing without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end employee lifecycle across jurisdictions, including offers, onboarding, changes, leaves, probation and offboarding.
• Prepare employment documentation using approved templates and handle complex cases.
• Coordinate global immigration and right-to-work processes and visa compliance.
• Act as first point of contact for employees and managers on People Operations policies and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of employment laws across Volta's operating countries to stay compliant.
• Manage Employer of Record (EOR) and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) arrangements.
• Ensure UK GDPR compliant data processing and data retention practices.
• Administer Deel HRIS and maintain accurate employee records and structures.
• Manage data flows between Deel, Ashby, Carta and payroll systems; produce reports.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize processes; document SOPs.
