Global Payroll Manager

International Professional Services Organisation

Location: London | Hybrid | £75k–£80k + benefits

A technically strong and experienced Global Payroll Manager is sought to lead payroll operations for an international organisation with employees across multiple jurisdictions. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a small international payroll team and working closely with finance, HR, and external providers to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll delivery worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing across all global locations
  • Manage payroll-related benefits, including pensions, healthcare, and statutory payments
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries across the business
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements in each jurisdiction
  • Maintain robust internal controls, records, and audit readiness
  • Lead payroll-related projects, including new system implementations and process improvements
  • Review payroll journals, reconcile related accounts, and support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Partner with third-party payroll providers and Employer of Record partners to ensure service quality
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a payroll management role within a multi-country, multi-currency environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, pensions, and statutory requirements
  • Skilled in payroll compliance and audit preparation
  • Comfortable managing a small team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, linking, data analysis) and familiarity with payroll software
  • Payroll qualifications (e.g., CIPP) are highly desirable
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or professional services sector is an advantage
