Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for two Global Payroll Analysts to take responsibility for delivering our global payrolls, working in our Reward team and closely with our People Services team. The People Services team improve the experience of our people, taking responsibility for delivering an outstanding HR service – so they, in turn, can deliver on our company mission to help our customers achieve their scientific breakthroughs faster.

Working in payroll within the Reward team is a fantastic opportunity to impact the employee experience at abcam. You will be responsible for ensuring payroll operations are delivered in line with SOX procedures. You will be managing all payroll providers globally and implementing effective provider management practices. You will be coaching and mentoring the People Services team to ensure payroll entry administration is delivered effectively by the HR specialists in the People Services team.

This role supports the delivery of abcam’s payroll Operations activities in all of our locations globally, across UK, Europe, USA & APAC.

  • Operate global payroll in line with SOX compliant procedures, including payroll review and approval
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding payroll processes to employees, leaders & the wider HR function
  • Liaise with internal and external providers as necessary, acting as a key contact with payroll and reward providers and governmental authorities
  • Prepare payroll summary, variance and reconciliation reports for review, approval and sign off
  • Support payroll projects in areas of primary responsibility
  • Map processes, mitigate risks and develop & maintain standard operating procedures for People Services Operations which satisfy in full the payroll entry and input requirements of the Payroll SOX processes
  • Contribute to internal and external payroll audit processes

Qualifications

You will have a detailed understanding and working knowledge of global payroll processes, providers and relevant legislation with experience of in-sourced and out-sourced solutions. You will have previous experience in a similar role in processing US payroll including specialist knowledge in areas such as US benefits, US tax requirements and US payroll legislation. You will have experience in working with payroll and benefits systems and internal reporting platforms.

You will have participated in your company’s review and selection of payroll providers. You will have knowledge and experience of reporting, administration, handling and presenting complex, confidential and high volume information whilst maintaining integrity and accuracy of data. You will have a strong understanding and experience using HR and payroll systems.
