Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking an experienced Partnership Financial Controller to join the Partnership Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract, maternity cover. Based in Bath with hybrid working patterns, you will own the financial affairs of the LLP partners and report to the LLP Executive Director, leading one direct report.

You will oversee partner capital accounts, profit distribution, taxation matters, partner onboarding/retirement processes and support the partner share scheme.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience working with complex financial data and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of UK personal taxation and self-assessment processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident communicator, able to explain complex financial matters to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial affairs of over 80 partners globally.
• Oversee partner onboarding, including payments, pensions and tax registrations.
• Manage partner capital investments and liaise with banking partners regarding capital loans.
• Lead partner retirement and exit processes.
• Prepare monthly drawings schedules and advance profit share calculations.
• Calculate and allocate annual profit share distributions.
• Maintain partner tax accounts and estimated tax retention calculations.
• Produce annual capital statements and partner financial reporting.
• Work closely with external tax advisers, pension providers, banks and auditors.
• Support LLP tax return preparation and partner tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with the ongoing operation and development of the partner share scheme.
• Contribute to strategic and high-profile partnership-related projects.
