Job description

Are you an experienced in Technical Support Operations or are you an experienced Service or Commissioning Supervisor with strong technical background?

Service - Global Service operations - Global Offshore Support


In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the global scale up of Offshore Service Operations. Initially you will act as a Global Technical Support anchor for the V236 Hypercare program where you will drive the rapid resolution of platform related technical issues, minimising LPF at the first V236 Offshore Service Sites. From here, acting as a mentor and coach, you will move out to the regions to provide guidance and support to the site based and local teams in the day-to-day operations of new offshore windfarms globally.


Not only will you be actively involved in supporting regions in their day-to-day operations, but you will also seek to develop and implement initiatives that ensure sufficient knowledge sharing and operational standardisation across Global Offshore Technical Support operations.


Responsibilities


Your typical tasks would be as follows:

  • Act as interface between the regional on-site and back office technical support teams and the global functions to accelerate solution implementation and knowledge sharing.
  • Creating and driving initiatives to ensure agile and rapid technical knowledge share across not only Technical Support functions but whole value chain.
  • Being the link between Technical Support (region) and VPS modules, CIM organization and other global service functions (like Supply chain operations, One tool, Turbine Engineering).
  • Participate in the "Hypercare" setup for newly introduced offshore platforms.
  • Reporting, documenting and handling requests to VPS Hypercare.
  • Supporting the troubleshooting process for either stopped turbines or turbines that are in commissioning phase.
  • Collaborating with Regional Technical Support to ensure technical knowledge is shared within the team but also with the rest global functions as needed.
  • Support the supervision and monitoring of turbine performance and alarm status daily with a focus on identifying proactive maintenance before a generation impact, with a target for improving LPF at site.
  • Advanced remote troubleshooting.
  • On-site support in troubleshooting of difficult-to-solve/first-of-its-kind issues.
  • Participate as a support if needed in Offshore Technical Support / Offshore Engineering led technical customer meetings together with Service Manager and Customer Manager and/or ensure that necessary expertise is available for these meetings from other global functions and shared across functions, sites and regions.
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining guides (VGAs) for Service Technician.
  • Providing timely responses and supporting the Service and Construction organizations.

Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical education combined with experience from the wind industry. (Or, relevant technical education, such as: Electrical, Mechanical)
  • Full authorization on the Vestas V164 Turbine (preferred).
  • Engineering background would be beneficial.
  • Experience in the field in troubleshooting or other technical experience with the different Vestas turbines.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Vestas set up in regard to group functions both in Service and in VPS/R&D.
  • Advanced PC skills - SAP, Microsoft office suite.
  • Good knowledge of WTG control systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and in writing.
