Job summary

Rentokil Initial Group in Crawley, England, is seeking a Global Network Operations Analyst to monitor and maintain day-to-day network performance, respond to incidents, and support preventative maintenance in line with global standards. Strong experience with Cisco/Aruba, SD-WAN, and scripting is a plus; on-site role with opportunity to impact network

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates hands-on experience with enterprise network technologies and global standards.

Responsibilities

  • Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot network performance and issues to minimize downtime.
  • Technical Escalation: Serve as escalation point for NOC incidents.
  • Technical Standards: Apply config updates following global standards and IT procedures.
  • Configuration Management: Audit configurations and plan remediations.
  • Device Security: Patch network hardware to latest versions.
  • Equipment Deployment: Design and deploy new branch configurations; provide remote support during installation.
  • Project Deployment: Implement engineering designs for new solutions.
  • Zero Hit Rule Management: Analyze traffic logs and safely decommission inactive rules.

Job description

Global Network Operations Analyst Rentokil Initial Group•Crawley, England, GB

This role will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that day to day network operations run smoothly across the regions. This will include monitoring the environment, responding to incidents and problems as they arise, and performing preventative maintenance where necessary.

Day to day activities will include responding to requests to perform changes and maintenance to the network in line with global standards. It will also include working toward our future network strategy, including process automation, standardisation and IaC.

This role will work closely with other regional and global resources.The role will act as an escalation point from the NOC team, and incorporate project implementation and design work in collaboration with the network engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot network performance and technical issues, and resolve quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Technical Escalation: Act as the escalation point for network incidents from the first line NOC team.
  • Technical Standards: Carry out network updates and configurations following global standards and standard IT procedures.
  • Configuration Management: Complete audits of existing configuration to ensure it meets global standards, and planning remediations where necessary.
  • Device Security: Plan and complete patching of network hardware to latest versions to ensure device security.
  • Equipment Deployment: Contribute to the design of new branch implementations, and complete the remote configuration of devices. Provide remote assistance to the on-site employee during installation and patching.
  • Project Deployment: Implement the design configurations provided by the engineering teams for new solutions.
  • Zero Hit Rule Management: Analyse traffic logs and hit counters to execute zero-hit rule deprecation, following change control procedures to disable and remove inactive rules safely.
Requirements
  • Has good understanding and hands on experience of network technologies used within the organisation:
  • Cisco & Aruba Switching
  • Traffic Managers
  • SASE
  • Web Application Firewalling
  • Wireless Access Points
  • SD-WAN
  • Has operational experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code and version control, using products such as Terraform and BitBucket to apply configuration changes.
  • Has experience of other technologies used within networking, specifically around Proxy servers, DHCP and DNS

  • CCNA, or equivalent from another vendor (CompTIA Network+, ASCA etc.)
