Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a mechanical maintenance engineer to join a multinational manufacturing team. The role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability and safety across sites.

You’ll work closely with engineering and production to optimise maintenance plans and improve asset performance. Qualifications include NVQ Level 3 or an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in plant equipment and maintenance tools.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of current plant equipment and its maintenance.
• Ability to apply predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to collaborate across internal and external departments to achieve goals.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Foresee that all maintenance activities are executed with high quality; focus on preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Detect deviations in plant asset performance in time.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and quality daily maintenance with detailed job prep.
• Establish standard work plans for repetitive maintenance tasks and drive standardization.
• Inspect equipment on random or scheduled tours to detect anomalies.
• Provide support to maintenance teams in diagnosis and problem solving.
• Ensure quality of external repair services, spare parts, or equipment.
• Coordinate contractors’ scheduled work and monitor task quality.
• Use predictive maintenance techniques for asset management.
• Review plant information (SAP, shift reports, alarms).
• Provide detailed work orders to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
• Keep asset documents and drawings updated and organized.
