Job summary

Azenta UK, Ltd. is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join the team in Wotton, Surrey for a 6-month assignment. The role focuses on reviewing and optimising global logistics and freight operations, leading tender processes and supplier evaluations to strengthen supply chain resilience.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Finance and Sales, manage RFQ/RFP activities, assess provider performance and develop business cases for cost savings and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, freight, supply chain or procurement.
• Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills.
• Experience benchmarking supplier performance and negotiating terms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive review of existing logistics and freight arrangements across regions.
• Assess performance of current providers against service levels, cost and quality.
• Analyse freight spend to identify savings opportunities and efficiencies.
• Benchmark contracts and terms against market standards and best practice.
• Develop and manage RFQ/RFP processes for logistics services.
• Identify and evaluate global providers to support current and future growth.
• Perform detailed commercial, operational and risk assessments of partners.
• Prepare business cases outlining cost-saving opportunities and mitigations.
• Support supplier selection, contract negotiations and implementation planning.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales and regional teams.
• Monitor market trends, freight rates and emerging logistics tech.
• Develop reporting and metrics to measure supplier effectiveness.
