Matchtech Group is assisting a global consumer health leader in recruiting a Global Logistics Director to lead end-to-end logistics across the worldwide supply chain from their NW London base.

The role focuses on cost optimisation, service excellence, inventory management, and standardisation, with responsibility for global logistics strategies, multi-modal distribution, and GDP compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading logistics in FMCG or similarly fast-paced settings.
• Track record of developing and running logistics strategies with in-house and external providers.
• Experience managing multi-site or multi-country operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global logistics strategies aligned with 5-year plans.
• Define long-term goals, targets, and strategic plans.
• Optimize warehousing including third-party procurement and labour efficiency targets.
• Formulate multi-modal distribution across sea, air, and road logistics.
• Design logistics service strategies balancing cost, service, and risk.
• Drive KPI dashboards and performance reviews for 3PLs.
• Implement GDP standards and conduct periodic audits.
• Oversee procurement and contracting for logistics services with regional teams.

Our client, a prominent player in the consumer health industry, is seeking a Global Logistics Director to join their team in NW London. This permanent role involves steering the logistics functions across the end-to-end supply chain globally, ensuring cost optimisation, service excellence, and inventory management, continually aiming to align performance with business objectives. The successful applicant will take charge of logistics strategies, drive operational enhancements, and champion safety and standardisation globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement global logistics strategies, reviewed annually to align with the 5-year business plan
• Define and achieve long-term goals, targets, and strategic plans
• Optimise warehousing strategies, including procurement of third-party services and achieving operational targets such as labour efficiency and CO2 reduction
• Formulate and execute a multi-modal distribution strategy, managing requirements across sea, air, and road logistics
• Design in-house and third-party logistics service strategies to balance cost, service, environmental impact, and minimising risk
• Drive performance management processes, including KPI dashboards for third-party providers
• Implement global standards and conduct periodic audits ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
• Manage procurement and contract processes for logistics service providers in collaboration with regional teams

Job Requirements:

Experience:

• Relevant logistics experience in FMCG or similar fast-paced environments
• Experience of developing logistics strategies and running logistics operations, both in-house and third-party
• Background in multi-site or multi-country operations
• Proven track record in delivering performance improvements through continuous improvement projects
