Job summary

IMG in London is looking for an experienced Event Engineer to support the delivery of world-class live sports broadcasting and transmission services across major events globally. This hands-on role requires extensive travel, practical technical expertise and a strong understanding of broadcast technology.

You will deploy, test and support transmission and connectivity solutions on-site at live events, ensuring high-quality broadcast delivery for rights holders and broadcasters worldwide.

Qualifications

• Live broadcast engineering experience.
• Broadcast transmission experience.
• Fibre connectivity experience.
• Knowledge of video encoding and decoding.
• Understanding of IP networking fundamentals.
• Practical engineering experience including rack builds, cabling and equipment installation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Ability to travel internationally for approximately 70% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support broadcast transmission infrastructure at live sporting events.
• Install, configure and test fibre, network and video transmission equipment.
• Rack and commission technical equipment both in-house and on-site.
• Build, test and repair engineering cabling where required.
• Configure and support video encoding and decoding solutions.
• Troubleshoot broadcast, transmission and connectivity issues under live event conditions.
• Work closely with customers, broadcasters and production teams.
• Support IP-based video contribution and distribution workflows.
• Prepare and test equipment prior to deployment.
