Job Title: Senior Director, Employee Relations/Labor Relations/HR Generalists

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Human Resources leader for our new Global Employee Relations (ER), Labor Relations (LR), Compliance and HR Generalist functions. This role will be responsible for setting and executing the global strategy for fostering a fair, consistent, compliant, and high-performing workplace in 60 countries across APAC, EMEA, LATAM and North America. Additionally, he/she will oversee the team that provides HR operational leadership, while ensuring consistent delivery of people practices that support business success. In this new role, he/she will be responsible for the build and optimization of this function together with a team of people leaders and specialists.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations/Labor Relations Strategy

  • Partner with key stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive global ER framework that promotes fairness, legal compliance, and proactive risk mitigation through a consistent application of policies, guidelines and processes for investigations, grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Serve as the senior point of escalation for complex or high-risk ER/LR matters globally
  • Design and deliver a strategy to enable positive and constructive labor relations
  • Ensure alignment with local legal requirements while driving consistent global standards

Global HR Generalist Leadership

  • Oversee the delivery of operational HR generalist services across all regions providing local expertise and insights to support business leaders, managers and HRBPs
  • Support business restructurings, mergers/acquisitions and new business transactions
  • Support the deployment of Global HR programs and information to ensure manager adoption and understanding (e.g. performance management, annual compensation)
  • Ensure effective collaboration between HR generalists, HRBPs, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and HR Operational functions

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and develop a global team of ER, LR, Compliance and HR generalist professionals with a focus on performance, development, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Monitor ER and LR trends, compliance issues, and employee engagement indicators to inform proactive action.
  • Establish and track global KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and governance to ensure ER/LR consistency and effectiveness.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • In partnership with Employment Law, Global Risk and Global Investigations, proactively identify, assess, and respond to employment-related risk across the organization.
  • Establish governance models, reporting standards, and investigation protocols to ensure compliance with internal policies and external legal requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on trends, audit outcomes, and emerging legal or regulatory risks.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and data to enhance employee experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a key partner to: Employment Law on internal investigations and case resolution; Global Investigations on investigations and Global Risk on workplace incidents; HR Business Partners on sensitive employee issues, manager capability, and business-aligned HR delivery; Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to ensure policies and programs are executed consistently and effectively in the field
  • Act as an advisor to senior business and HR leaders on ER/LR risk, organizational changes, and large-scale workforce events (e.g., M&A, restructuring)
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related field; Master’s or JD preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with deep expertise in employee and labor relations and global HR generalist responsibilities
  • Proven track record of managing global ER/LR programs investigations, and policy implementation.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and labor practices across North America, Europe, APAC, and Latin America, with specific experience in the US, UK, India, Brazil and Colombia
  • Multinational company experience with both unionized and non-unionized environments, and a diverse workforce including professionals, frontline and contingent
  • Experience leading large HR teams across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working in a fast-paced, and highly regulated global environment.
  • Experience with HR systems, data analytics tools, and shared services models a plus
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM-CP/SCP, or local equivalent
