Job summary

Howden in London is offering a paid FLG Operations Summer Internship designed to give hands-on experience supporting broking teams across Financial Institutions, Cyber and D&O insurance. You will contribute to client onboarding, document preparation and premium processing while learning how Lloyd's and company markets operate.

You’ll work with Excel, Power BI and other Microsoft apps, develop commercial awareness and build professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of study from any degree background, with an expected 2:1 or above.
• Interested in how global businesses manage risk in a fast-moving environment.
• Comfortable with numbers and handling information accurately.
• Strong communicator who enjoys working with different people and building relationships.
• Organised, detail-focused and able to balance competing priorities.
• Curious and willing to ask questions, learn quickly and apply feedback.
• Adaptable, resilient and ready to take on a variety of tasks.
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects across Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, Cyber and Directors & Officers insurance.
• Support client onboarding, prepare insurance documentation and help process premiums.
• Work closely with brokers to understand how insurance is placed across Lloyd’s and company markets.
• Use internal broking systems, Power BI dashboards, contract builders, portals and Excel to manage data and reporting.
