The position is created to support the current Global Insurance Director, based in the UK.

The Global Insurance function's role is to procure and maintain global insurance programs and oversee local insurance programs, with direct responsibility for UK and NL, to protect the Arcadis group against insurable risks. The Global Insurance Manager is accountable for supporting the setup and maintenance of the Insurance function and programs, the operation of the captive cell insurance company, and reports to the Global Insurance Director as part of the wider Finance team.

The Global Insurance Manager will support the procurement and maintenance of global insurance programs and local policies where required, following insurance policies and procedures. They will assist with designing, establishing, and maintaining global insurance programs including but not limited to: professional indemnity, general/third-party liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, crime, and travel, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions. The Global Insurance Director will continuously monitor and analyze changes in the business and insurance markets to ensure coverage is sufficient and amended as needed. The Director is responsible for the operation and oversight of the captive cell insurance company.

The Global Insurance function collaborates closely with:

  • The Global legal function and local legal counsels regarding insurance claims handling.
  • The Global Risk Management function to ensure standardized risk management practices and mitigants are embedded in business operations.
  • The finance functions across the group on budgets, premium allocations, processing insurance invoices, and monitoring.

Additionally, there is collaboration with colleagues in project bidding, execution, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax.

The accountabilities include:

  • Supporting the management of brokers on global insurance program renewals for the best terms.
  • Assisting with renewal data collection, proposal forms, and underwriting presentations.
  • Preparing premium allocations for all global policies.
  • Checking and monitoring invoices, including raising POs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of policies globally for management reporting.
  • Managing UK and NL policies, including Motor, Car, Property, Art, and Personal Accident.
  • Overseeing locally placed policies.
  • Creating budgets with input from brokers and preparing bi-annual summaries for regional CFOs.
  • Responding to insurance queries promptly.
  • Creating and updating an insurance intranet resource page.
  • Monitoring claims between the fronting insurer and captive cell, including annual aggregates.
  • Deputizing for the Global Insurance Director and performing additional tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate insurance, as an Insurance Manager or broker.
  • Knowledge of the corporate insurance market, its dynamics, and key players.
  • Strong communication skills for internal and external contacts.
  • Proficiency in Excel, especially for premium allocations.
  • A proactive team player with a no-nonsense attitude.
  • Flexible, service-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
