Global HQ Design and Construction Director

Global HQ Design and Construction Director

Real Estate Services (RES) creates inclusive, digitally enabled spaces for meaningful collaboration and experiences, while ensuring safe, sustainable, and resilient operations for HSBC and all the people around us. RES manages HSBC's property portfolio, which covers more than 30 million square feet across over 50 markets, supporting over 200,000 colleagues worldwide. Our goal is to make every experience, whether at a branch or in an office, transformational and meaningful.

In this new role, you will join a growing team and oversee the relocation of HSBC's London HQ, ensuring project deliverables are met. You will demonstrate leadership in project management, cost control, design governance, architectural and engineering practices, risk management, sustainability, innovation, operational governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the main interface between internal and external project teams, consultants, and HSBC executive management.
  • Providing strategic and technical project management advice to stakeholders, including HSBC leadership and business partners.
  • Developing integrated workplace strategies, guiding principles, and best practices as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Overseeing significant and flagship building projects across the group.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure business requirements are fully understood and met.
