The GHRA is responsible for managing the Global Product Science Leaders (including Product Sciences, Human Health Sciences, and Environmental Sciences). The GHRA will navigate the increased complexity and interdependence among science disciplines that underpin Gowan’s selection, development, and registration of crop protection solutions. Maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities in key regions such as the US EPA, the European Union, and Latin America is essential. The GHRA must stay connected to the business to understand Gowan’s commercial priorities and needs. This will be achieved by leading, challenging, and creating opportunities across multiple scientific and regulatory domains.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  2. Lead the development and safeguarding of databases supporting Gowan’s portfolio and pipeline worldwide.
  3. Facilitate scientific discussions and support company plans and product-specific actions. Collaborate with R&D personnel globally to deepen internal product knowledge. Work with Development and Formulations teams to identify, develop, and implement opportunities.
  4. Promote communication and alignment with supply, quality, and manufacturing teams to assess needs and implications of changes within product supply strategies.
  5. Collaborate with Regional Agriculture Relations functions to communicate, advocate, and defend the technical attributes of Gowan products both internally and externally.
  6. Represent regulatory positions and strategies, either directly or through delegates, on Asset Teams. Guide new product selection with Business Development and synchronize new product advancement with Development. Participate in Gowan Group task forces and internal projects to improve processes.
  7. Manage group responsibilities including budgeting, people development, and succession planning.
  8. Educate employees and stakeholders (including customers) to understand the regulatory process and its importance for human and environmental protection.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field; a Master’s or Doctorate in a science or regulatory discipline is preferred.
  2. At least 15 years of extensive experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on global strategy and multi-year planning in the pesticide industry.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  4. Proactive, adaptable, and capable of driving innovation in regulatory practices.
