Job summary

pladis Global seeks a Global Procurement Head for Financial Hedging to lead the strategy and implementation of the Commodity Price Risk Management framework. You will own the trading book across cocoa, wheat, fats & oils, sugar, dairy, diesel, energy and packaging, reporting to the Raw Materials Categories Lead and ultimately the CPO.

You will monitor markets in real time, propose risk management strategies, and work with Treasury and Finance to quantify hedging impacts and currency needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commodity markets, risk management, forward buying, spot market transactions, exchange rates & tax implications.
• Understanding price risk management, supply risk & cost minimisation principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and implementation of CPRM for about £1bn spend across cocoa, wheat, fats & oils, sugar, dairy, diesel, energy and packaging.
• Monitor exchange traded commodity markets in real time and execute hedging strategies.
• Maintain futures and swaps trading book daily to reflect real time exposure.
• Collaborate with Treasury and Finance to report futures purchases, hedge gains/losses and cashflow impacts.
