Job Description:

Please Note: This is a 100% onsite role requiring 5 days of work from the office.

Role Purpose:

This role involves coordinating among our Higher Education brands and librarians to identify digital learning resources, and working with content providers to ensure proper contracts and delivery, focusing on providing a safe and effective experience for students and academics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and promote the digital repository and open access publishing services.
  • Manage digital content contracts and local digital collections.
  • Collaborate with librarians to support sharing scholarly outputs, including publications and research data.
  • Assist faculty and students in creating open access journals at GEDU Library.
  • Coordinate with Communications to promote digital services.
  • Lead an Open Access Working Group to support open access initiatives.
  • Develop methods to evaluate the effectiveness of repositories and publishing services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on digital repositories and scholarly communications.
  • Develop policies, manage change, and resolve issues with brand librarians.
  • Communicate developments and coordinate projects to ensure quality service.
  • Participate in committees and external collaborations.
  • Engage in research, grant projects, and training activities.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Masters or PhD in Library Science or equivalent.
  • Experience with digital repositories and content management systems.
  • Project management experience with complex digital initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to plan and implement digital projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of digital preservation standards and metadata standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of trends in digital libraries and scholarly communications.
