Job Description:

About the Role:

Although HALO is over 30 years old, it had until recently a relatively small philanthropy programme. This has changed over the past five years with global income from philanthropic donors (including those in the US) increasing from £4 million to £44 million in 2023/24, of which UK philanthropic income (led by the Global Philanthropy Team) increased significantly. The most recent increase has been a result of exceptional US donor support for Ukraine.

Underpinning this is growth in six and seven figure partnerships with philanthropists, corporates, and foundations, supported by our well-connected network of trustees and ambassadors and overseen by our professional Global Philanthropy Team.

The Global Philanthropy Team, consisting of 12 professionals mainly based in the UK, works to secure new support and steward donors across the UK/Europe and international markets including the Middle East. The team collaborates with US colleagues responsible for US philanthropy strategy.

Following recent successes, HALO is investing further in philanthropic funding to diversify income and increase agility, including developing mass-market individual giving and bolstering major gifts fundraising through new roles.

The Global Head of Corporate Partnerships will manage our Senior Philanthropy and Grants Manager and lead onboarding of up to two new roles, establishing a high-performing team to maximize networks and secure major funding.

This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraising leader to contribute to HALO’s growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the corporate partnerships team to achieve income growth aligned with targets and strategic priorities.
  2. Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute the global philanthropy strategy, focusing on major corporate partnerships.
  3. Build and support a team to ensure high performance and motivation, including managing current and new team members.
  4. Develop and manage a portfolio of major corporate partners and prospects to secure seven-figure or higher commitments.
  5. Work with the UK Board, Ambassador Group, and other advocates to develop new corporate partnerships.
  6. Create bespoke partnership plans aligned with CSR objectives to maximize income and engagement.
  7. Stay informed on developments relating to corporate partners and networks.
  8. Develop communication strategies with the Communications Team to support corporate partnerships.
  9. Support expansion into new markets such as Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
  10. Keep abreast of philanthropic trends and best practices.
  11. Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

Requirements:

HALO seeks a senior fundraising professional with strong leadership experience. Essential qualities include:

  • Proven success in fundraising with a track record of inspiring stakeholders.
