Job Title

Global Governance Assurance Specialist – Data Assurance

Purpose and Scope

The Data Assurance Lead, reporting to the Global Governance Assurance Manager, supports the implementation of the Technical Specification Programme Data Assurance strategy. The role aligns with our Performance Ambition to be trusted by all stakeholders for conducting business ethically, from grain to glass.

Entry Level Requirements – Capabilities, Skills & Experience
  • A proven record in projects and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Advanced competency in risk and assurance or other relevant Governance functions.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a technical & manufacturing environment. Has delivered change programs at a market or corporate level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, risk management, and compliance within a corporate or regulatory environment.
  • Strong understanding of data protection laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, data quality management software, and security technologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus on data assurance strategies and initiatives.
Technical Specification BAU Resource Responsibilities
Team Involvement

Participate in a team responsible for managing data quality, cleansing, and creating templates for new technical specifications to support Diageo's strategy and near-term 12-month production/volume commitments.

Work on New Product Introduction (Brand Change & Innovation), Pack Renovation, Regulatory changes, Obsolescence, and Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Governance and Oversight

Provide governance oversight in the day-to-day operations of the technical team, including cadence management and MI input into the business LT Governance forum before workload submission.

Ensure SME governance through quality checklists for each new technical specification. Validate data using standardized templates signed off according to the agreed controls matrix.

Oversee SAP-IPD approvals in the system for data validation received from suppliers, accepting or declining based on criteria in the technical specification data validation checklist.

Manage oversight of data cleansing activities as outlined in process flow documentation.

Data Accuracy and Supplier Onboarding

Ensure data accuracy (e.g., 100%) by incorporating P4G data accuracy inclusion and conducting capability audits leveraging North America learnings.

Oversee supplier onboarding processes to ensure compliance within the system and wider connections (e.g., completion of supplier acceptance criteria).

Conduct annual data cleanse wash-ups to validate system data accuracy, improve processes, document findings, and ensure Diageo's data matches supplier-held data.
