Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Payments Counsel to join the Payments Legal team, advising on compliance matters for Europe and the UK. You will partner with product, compliance and business development teams on a range of payment issues, including licensing, AML/KYC, and regulatory engagement.

The role requires a qualified lawyer with 5+ years in fintech/payments, strong judgment, and the ability to counsel a fast-moving business across multiple regions. London-based with a global remit.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years in fintech/payments, MSB compliance, AML, KYC, and stored value facilities.
• Global or regional experience in fintech startup or creator economy.
• Experience with payment product compliance advisory and global/regional compliance.
• Ability to interpret regulations and communicate complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and partner with product teams on payment issues such as money transfer services, e-money, tokens, AML, gifts, and stored value facilities.
• Advise internal stakeholders across product, compliance and business development on global payment projects and services.
• Work with the global legal team to support payment launches and solutions.
• Guide the payments business on licensing and regulator engagement.
• Help build scalable processes for legal review and launch of new payment solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on AML, money transmission, virtual currency, KYC/KYB in EU/UK.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with TikTok product and global payments teams.
