Job summary

Sophos is seeking a Group Financial Controller to oversee the global financial control function, including payroll, general accounting, and balance sheet control. The role partners with the shared service centre and serves as the primary contact for annual audits across global subsidiaries.

Strong people leadership is essential to manage a cross‑border finance team. The position requires IFRS expertise, experience with external audits and tax filings, and a strategic mindset to improve processes

Qualifications

• Experience leading financial control across global operations.
• Proven IFRS accounting expertise and reporting.
• Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience; exposure to quoted company environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations for global subsidiaries, including month-end close and reporting.
• Own financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations; manage variance analysis and planning.
• Oversee payroll, AP, AR, and cash flow internationally; ensure statutory audits and filings.
• Coordinate with tax teams on compliance and optimization; liaise with auditors.
• Lead the finance team, conduct performance reviews and talent planning.
