Company – Confidential is seeking a Financial Controller in Hertford to lead US/Canada finance operations and consolidate reporting for a single entity.

The role covers monthly balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, year-end audits, and budgeting processes, with responsibilities across cash management, intercompany, and statutory returns. Suitable for candidates with strong accounting background in multinational environments.

Qualifications

• Qualified in CIMA or ACCA, or equivalent via experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a management accounting role with small teams.
• Experience with ERP systems and currency conversions.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organisational skills.
• Experience in multinational/group reporting environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet, P&L, and cash flows for US/Canada.
• Manage entity cash flows and payments to head office.
• Lead US finance team based in the UK; support department objectives.
• Oversee monthly subsidiary gross profit, expenses reports.
• Ensure month-end deadlines and accounting procedures.
• Prepare and submit monthly HST and other statutory returns.
• Oversee customer chargebacks; manage collections and payments.
• Coordinate monthly P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Inventory valuations with third-party warehouses.
• Manage external audits and annual budgets for US/Canada entities.
