Job summary

TT Electronics is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead Design and Test Engineering, shaping technology roadmaps and ensuring resources align with strategic priorities. You will guide senior teams and collaborate with Commercial, Operations and Leadership groups to deliver innovative electronic solutions.

The role requires a strong track record in leading NPD, managing budgets, and upholding industry quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Engineering/Materials Science/Engineering Science/Physics, or another engineering discipline.
• Experience managing NPD processes in defence, aerospace, mass transportation, medical, industrial energy or automotive.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Motivated by results.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, influencing and decision making skills.
• Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, coaching, mentoring and developing talent, and building and retaining high-performing teams.
• Lead the successful delivery of projects from concept through to production, driving robust project management disciplines, and ensuring resources are effectively structured and deployed.
• Develop and execute technology and product development roadmaps, managing departmental budgets and capital expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry and quality standards, including IRIS, VG, AS9100, ISO 9001, APQP and PPAP, while championing best practice within the New Product Development (NPD) process.
• Establish and continuously improve processes, systems and methodologies and champion a culture of innovation.
• Oversee engineering governance, including configuration management, design controls and change management processes.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, industry bodies and external partners, acting as a senior technical authority on complex enquiries and quality matters.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on status and forecasts to the site and wider group leadership team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure priorities remain aligned.
• Lead by example and ensure the team display the right behaviours in prioritising health and safety.
