Job summary

Kraken in London seeks an experienced Employment Counsel to lead employment law strategy across multiple jurisdictions. You will counsel People leaders, manage investigations and disputes, and help shape global HR policies in a fast-growing tech company.

The ideal candidate holds a UK (or equivalent) solicitor/barrister qualification with substantial employment law experience, covering UK, EU and US matters, and excels at translating law into practical business advice for executives.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent in the UK or another major jurisdiction.
• Significant employment law experience in a leading firm or multinational in-house department.
• Strong knowledge of UK, EU, and US employment law with business-focused judgement.

Responsibilities

• Advise on daily employee relations and policy issues.
• Lead and manage workplace investigations.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies and handbooks.
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed.
• Support global expansion and hiring strategies.
• Manage employment disputes and litigation with external counsel.
• Monitor regulatory developments across jurisdictions.
• Develop training and best practices for workplace conduct and compliance.
• Provide due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
