Job summary

Walker Hamill is partnering with a leading international organisation to recruit a Group Derivatives Controller into a newly created, high‑profile role within its Group Finance function. The role offers ownership of the group’s derivatives control framework and oversight of instruments across regions.

You will develop policies, supervise valuation and hedge accounting under IFRS 9, and partner with treasury, risk and regional finance teams to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with derivatives accounting expertise.
• Experience with hedge accounting under IFRS 9 in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Group derivatives activities across commodities, FX and interest rates.
• Develop and maintain Group-wide policies, procedures, and controls for derivative management.
• Partner with regional finance and risk teams to ensure proper trade capture, valuation, and accounting.
• Oversee valuation and hedge accounting under IFRS 9 for the Group.
• Ensure derivative transactions are reflected in consolidated financial statements and support external audits.
