About the Job
Binance, the world’s leading blockchain company and largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is looking for a Global Deputy Lead - Compliance Systems and Controls. This leadership role is responsible for driving the development and optimization of compliance systems, controls, and technology solutions within Binance's Compliance Division.
Responsibilities
- Compliance System Development: Develop and enhance compliance systems, including areas such as name screening, crypto transaction screening, post-transaction monitoring, market surveillance, KYC/KYB, and AML.
- Data Science & Technology: Apply data science and analytics technologies (including Machine Learning and LLMs) to improve compliance processes.
- Model Optimization: Optimize compliance models and thresholds, continuously refining them to meet regulatory standards.
- Change Control & Documentation: Ensure that all change control processes and documentation comply with industry regulations.
- Model Validation & Reporting: Oversee a model validation program and maintain MIS reports to drive team efficiency and inform leadership on compliance performance.
- Customer Risk Scoring: Optimize and validate Customer Risk Scoring Models and customer screening rules.
- Integration of Travel Rule Data: Work on integrating Travel Rule data into the company’s screening and monitoring systems.
- Operational Efficiencies: Consult on improvements to case management and other platforms to enhance operational efficiency.
- Leadership & Coaching: Lead and mentor team leads, enhancing their project management and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Experience:
- 10+ years in Compliance with 5+ years in Compliance Systems development/improvement and data analytics.
- 6+ years of management experience overseeing managers and team leaders.
- Compliance Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of compliance control systems and experience in developing systems for KYC, AML, and other regulatory domains.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams through strategy, ideation, design, and implementation. Strong capability to validate model effectiveness and testing approaches.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Advanced degrees in computer science, data science, or related fields are preferred).
- Certifications:
- Compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are preferred.
- PMP, Six Sigma, or Agile certifications are advantageous.
- Crypto Knowledge: Working knowledge and an interest in cryptocurrency and digital currencies are desirable.
- Consulting Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with attention to detail.
