Opus Perm is seeking an Import Clerk to join its freight and customs operation, focusing on Deep Sea Imports. You will manage shipments from booking to delivery, coordinate with overseas agents and customers, and prepare import documentation with accuracy.

This hands-on role within a small team offers exposure to end-to-end international logistics, including customs clearance, freight movements and worldwide supply chains, with career development opportunities.

Formación

• 3-4 years' experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Experience handling Deep Sea Import shipments.
• Good understanding of UK import procedures and customs processes.
• Experience working with shipping lines, freight networks and overseas agents.
• Strong administration and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working within a small team with flexibility and teamwork.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and freight management systems.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Deep Sea Import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers.
• Prepare and process import documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise with customs authorities and support customs clearance activities.
• Track and monitor shipment progress, providing proactive updates to customers.
• Resolve operational issues and delays quickly and effectively.
• Arrange delivery schedules and transport requirements.
• Maintain all files, records and customs documentation accurately.
• Calculate and verify freight, customs and import-related charges.
• Support other freight forwarding and operational activities as required.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and overseas partners.
• Assist across the wider logistics function, reflecting the collaborative nature of a small team.
