Your role

Sitting within the wider Global Design, Engineering & Construction (DE&C) function, the Global DE&C Connectivity Manager supports connectivity design of Digital Realty's campuses. This includes all Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP) pathway and Point of Presence (POP) designs. They design, approve, and direct Digital Realty issued OSP/ISP/POP designs on assigned projects cross-regionally, working with the local Design Managers and third-party consultants to implement these designs and standards. This individual participates in the full lifecycle of a project.

Responsibilities & Duties include:

1. Ensure the telecommunication requirements of our customers are delivered.
2. Respond to design escalations from the team.
3. Ensure telecommunication design solutions do not jeopardize safety and quality standards.
4. Create and audit designs to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, missing information, and track close-out.
5. Ensure that the latest telecommunication innovations/technologies are available and communicated throughout the team.
6. Promote Digital Realty's core values.
7. Attend all necessary internal reporting/steering meetings.

What you'll need

Essential knowledge includes:

• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or MicroStation). Ability to create schematics, detailed design drawings, and work with issued architectural and civil/site drawings.
• 5-8 years of data center or telecommunication construction and design experience.
• Experience in Telecom Construction, Fiber Installation & Testing, and Central Office operations.
• Thorough understanding of ANSI, BICSI, TIA 942 design standards.
• Experience delivering multiple large developments.
• Familiarity with gating processes and change control within an Owner Operator development organization.
• Awareness of contractual obligations for both Consultants and Contractors.
• Confidence in explaining and defending design decisions to customers and contractors.
